About Us
Friends of Consumer Freedom was established in 2004 to support financial education and increase consumer financial literacy.
As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, we are committed to improving lives by helping consumers access solid financial information, financial management tools and affordable financial services.
We are also a SEG (Select Employee Group) which helps our members gain access to our partner credit unions' products and services. Our roots run deep in the world of credit unions, and we were actually founded by the Texas Credit Union League (now the Cornerstone Credit Union League).
In 2018, we moved beyond funding other agencies' financial education initiatives, and started providing financial counseling and education services directly to consumers in North Texas! We were honored to be the recipient of a three-year collaborative grant from United Way of Metropolitan Dallas in 2019, along with one of our partners - a transitional shelter for victims of domestic violence. We also work with veterans, students, the homeless, and others who need our assistance. We would love to speak to your group or teach our classes in your community! Contact us today!
